In this unprecedented era of COVID-19, more of us are working from home than ever before. The team at Data Fast Systems have put together a guide for you and your staff with some of the things that we have found helpful.
Although your day will be different from being at the office, try to keep a routine when at home. Be sure to have regular break intervals and to stretch and walk around your house. If you have pets at home, try including them on the short walks around the house so you can both benefit.
Set up a designated area to be your “Home Office”, where possible have this removed from your main living area. The last thing you want is to have your Friday night blockbuster interrupted by the “ding” of a new email and pulling you away from the moment.
Ergonomics, Ergonomics, Eronomics
If you don’t have one, invest in a quality ergonomic chair. Your physio might not see you as regularly, but body will thank you for it.
Remember your breaks
Make sure you take a lunch break and make it meaningful. Use this time to step away from your designated work area and switch off. Eat lunch outside, spend some time with your dog (always a great activity), watch an episode of your TV show, have a video call with friends/family. It doesn’t matter what you do, but if you can incorporate an activity that takes your mind away from your work; it will help you feel refreshed when you return after your break.
It's not all bad
Remember the “silver linings” such as saved fuel money; less time spent sitting in traffic and who can ignore how great it is to be able to wear sweat pants at work!
